Note from Taylor

My approach to art and interior design is reflective of my approach to life. I am drawn to beauty that feels considered and grounded, shaped by balance, restraint, and a quiet sense of order. At the heart of my practice is a continual process of editing — an ongoing refinement that extends beyond my work into my home and daily life, guided by a search for the purest possible expression.

By removing the unessential, space is created for what remains to breathe. This process allows the preserved qualities of a piece to surface —its core spirit— and informs the careful curation of materials, objects, and art. An emphasis on natural materials is central to this approach, alongside an attentiveness to “empty” or negative space, which I view as equally as powerful as structure or form. In both interior environments and sculptural work, absence holds presence, shaping how a space is felt as much as what physically occupies it.

This philosophy extends to the way we move through the world and the rituals we choose to incorporate into our everyday lives. Stillness is valued as highly as activity, offering moments of pause, clarity, and awareness. A connection to nature is essential to my practice, providing both creative inspiration and a sense of balance. I strive to honour the inherent honesty of the materials I work with, allowing them to speak for themselves, and to maintain a purity of intent throughout the process of making.
